Who is LJ Regine?
After finding CrossFit in 2012, I threw myself full-time into the CrossFit world of training, fitness and community and haven’t looked back since. I began by interning at CrossFit Queens in Astoria, NY and took on personal training clients. From there I obtained my Level 1 CrossFit Training Certificate and became a full-time CrossFit trainer in addition to my job as sales manager of the gym . . . .
I love that we get to workout with our friends and push each other to be the fittest versions of ourselves. I know all the hard work in the gym pays off in other areas of our lives and that really motivates me as a Coach.
In 2015, I took a position at EVF Performance CrossFit Columbus Circle in Manhattan where I introduced a mobility program based on Kelly Starett’s Supple Leopard and built a competition program “Vikings.” I eventually became the “Membership Outreach Coordinator” which basically meant I got to plan cool events to bring the community together.
In 2016, I joined Patriot CrossFit, as Head Coach and eventually General Manager. During my tenure there, I built the Overtime program, a Friday night get together of clients who wanted an extra push who I felt exemplified the values I believe that would go on to define what I’m building at RoxFire.
In 2018, I decided it was finally time to strike out on my own. Growing up in tiny Rhode Island, I traveled to South Florida every year with my family and always felt at home which is one of the reasons I chose Fort Lauderdale as the location to open my box. I fell in love with this up and coming city's big-town feel, amazing beaches and eclectic nightlife.

What’s in a Name?
Our name, RoxFire Fitness, Gyms in fort Lauderdale, was born with the idea of taking the Latin word ferōx, which translates to bold or wild, and combining it with the word fire to evoke the image and feeling of wild fire. At our core, we are passionate about connecting to each other and growing through fitness. All it takes is that small step forward to come in to the gym and it can grow to change your entire life. CrossFit for me hasn’t just been about getting more fit physically but about unlocking the confidence and strength that resides within all of us.
The logo combines two Nordic rune letters, raidho (ᚱ) which represents movement or journey. As well as ansuz (ᚨ) which can be interpreted as the Old Norse God Odin and his quest for wisdom, his sense of creativity and his thirst for mastery. Ansuz is the transformation and understanding of the self on a deeper level.
Our name is about being bold, being powerful and journey to become the most fit version of yourself.

A community full of like-minded folks, who simply want to push each other to be the best people we can be.
“LJ is an amazing all around coach. I came to CrossFit with a triathlon and traditional weight lifting background, but had been "stagnant" for a few years. LJ worked with me to use my strengths to build my weaknesses. He is able to balance the hard work with fun. He makes the tough work bearable. I went from 230 lbs of "dormant muscle" who couldn't do hardly any CF moves or touch my toes, to 200 lbs able to do, or properly scale, any CF movement and flexibility to not only touch my toes, but also a sweet down dog pose! In all seriousness, I fully enjoyed working with LJ as a coach and made great athletic strides.”Joe W
“LJ is an outstanding fitness coach who continually motivates his athletes to achieve continuous improvement, for both beginners and advanced athletes. His work clearly showed in the community he built at Patriot Crossfit, which would not have been possible without a coach who really cares.”Pär L
“LJ is amazing. He cares, keeps you motivated and really knows how to cultivate a community environment. I am really excited about him opening his new business. I know it is going to be a huge success.”Dana S
“LJ's energy and charisma is contagious! As a coach, he is both knowledgeable and passionate which makes him an extremely effective teacher. He cares about his community and will push athletes to reach their highest potential.”Cara A
“When our box announced it was closing, LJ popped over to introduce himself and his box, and to work out with us. Unsurprisingly, as soon as our box closed, most of us who had a chance to meet LJ immediately signed up with him. LJ made the transition easy -- something I personally appreciated. He was always willing to go the extra mile in helping us improve our fitness. More specifically, LJ always made it a point to design the warm-ups to best prepare us for the WODs, and he always challenged us to enter each WOD with a game plan. Join his gym - you'll make a friend and improve your fitness.”Jeremy B
